Although I usually prefer skirts and dresses, every now and then I fall head over heels for a pair of trousers—especially when they’re as special as the Miss Fancy Pants I got from Bright House Vintage*. The dark fabric, wide legs, and high waist instantly create that signature Dark Academia vibe: wonderfully nostalgic, a bit intellectual, and effortlessly chic.
Paired with a classic blouse and suspenders, the look feels like it stepped straight out of an old university setting—think secret-filled libraries and warm candlelight.
Fit Tip for the Miss Fancy Pants: The trousers run rather small in the waist. To keep them comfortable (especially if you’re wearing tights or a thermal layer underneath), I recommend sizing up. I personally opted for a 36 instead of a 34 and the fit is just right. Be sure to check the size chart—it helps enormously.
