My monthly recap of September
Golden late-summer days and damp, chilly autumn weather — September truly played out the seasonal cliché of summer fading into fall. The last official days of summer were gloriously warm and sunny, while the first official day of autumn greeted us with mist and grey skies. But since I don’t want to just talk about the weather, let me share a little of what else has been happening.
What I did:

September is always about preparing for the season ahead. I harvested lavender from the garden and spent a few cozy afternoons turning it into sachets for the wardrobe — and even experimented with homemade lavender soap! With a melt & pour shea butter base, a few drops of lavender oil, and a sprinkle of blossoms, I poured everything into little silicone molds. Once cooled, the soaps were ready — simple, beautiful, and the kind of handmade gift I adore.

We also harvested and preserved plenty of other things from the garden. And we tried to catch the blood moon — sadly, a few stubborn clouds spoiled the view…
And of course, we made sure to soak up those golden late-summer days outdoors. A highlight was visiting the Forest Adventure Center in Füssen — such a magical spot, especially for families.
What I wore

Confession: I completely forgot to photograph my outfits this month! But September was such a mix — breezy summer dresses on warmer days, cozy autumn layers when the chill set in. The perfect in-between wardrobe.

What I ate:

September blessed us with another round of garden abundance. We enjoyed plenty of homegrown food — tomatoes, beets, carrots, Swiss chard, and more.
What I Watched & Read
This month, I decided to swap screen time for page time. Apart from finishing the second part of Wednesday on Netflix, my evenings were spent curled up with books.
I leaned fully into autumn moods with my reading. A Dark and Secret Magic by Wallis Kinney was my atmospheric companion — full of mysterious magic, foggy forests, and that slightly eerie feeling that pairs so well with long, dark evenings.
On the cozier side, Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood felt like a warm autumn hug: witches’ hats, a bookshop, and plenty of charm to sweeten golden evenings.
Two very different witchy reads, each in its own way pulling me straight into autumn. Both are also perfect October picks!

What I bought
No big purchases for myself this month (despite a pre-loved Thermomix – really, who are I am now, haha??)— but I did have so much fun creating little “Boo Baskets” for my partner and child. These autumn surprise baskets are filled with seasonal treats, cozy goodies, and playful touches. I added autumn mugs, Lego sets (always a win for kids and grown-ups), and of course, plenty of sweets. A simple way to bring a little magic into everyday life.

My October Moodboard:
Golden leaves, cozy corners, books by candlelight, and a touch of witchy charm. I can’t wait to see where this next month takes us.
