It was loud, it was stylish, it was simply amazing! Thousands of visitors came to Bernbeuren from the 16th to 17th September to attend the 1st Auerberg Classic Days. Bernbeuren is a small town about 100 km in the southwest of Munich, and just in case you are wondering what I’m doing there, here is the answer: well, I grew up over there and after exactly 30 years, a bunch of motorbike fans decided to revive the legandary Auerberg Race – so of course I had to come! Especially as it wasn’t a classy race, but rather a competition with motorbikes manurfactured until 1979. The winner of the competition is not the fastest, but the one with the smallest time difference between two runs. It was quite racy, though.

Exactly 173 drivers of all ages from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and even Liechtenstein participated. Some of them were faster, some slower, some were furious, some moderately – however, they all made a nice appearance. By the way, the Zündapp from this blogpost participated as well. 😉
Classic Car Show, Best Dressed Competition and more
The race with the classic motorcycles was the highlight of the weekend, of course. Nonetheless, there were a lot of other things going on as well like the classic car and motorbike show or the best dressed competition, to name just a few of them. Speaking of the best dressed competition, I had the honour to be one of the jury members. And what should I say, it was so much fun!
