One usually can’t impress me with cars. But a roadtrip in a stylish vintage car – that would be something I wouldn’t say no to. However, those amazing classic cars are completely out of budget for me, and I guess I wouldn’t even be able to ride them without the power steering and parking assistance. So at the moment, I’m totally fine with just looking at them. A wonderful opportunity to see a lot of gorgeous vintage cars were the first Auerberg Classic Days, which I have been talking about here. But what to wear when you can’t be sure if the weather will be on you side or not, and if you have to stay in a muddy field most of the time, but want to look good anyway? In this blogpost, I’m going to show you a great example for those kind of days.
Comfy, warm, and stylish: “Megan” by BlackButterfly
The retro dress “Megan” by BlackButterfly has long sleeves and is therefore perfect for those first chilly autumn days. Despite the fact that the cut is quite simple, “Megan” looks super elegant and glamorous. The keyhole neckline, the ruched sleeves, and the decorative buttons (I unfortunately snagged one on something when I was playing around in all those amazing cars and lost it 🙁 ) definitely add that certain something to the dress. I really love the burgundy colour and the slightly flared skirt reminds me of the 40s. To prevent the dress from sticking to my tights, I decided to wear a small vintage petticoat underneath. Talking about tights: Yes, here in Germany it’s already time for warm hosiery so I went for dark fishnet tights with a seam.
As the weather was quite unstable, I decided to wear a beret. Another positive effect of headwear is that you don’t have to think about hairstyling – who says vintage fashion can’t be practical?
