A lovely book print dress

I’ve always been a bookworm. As a child, I used to hide under the covers with a torch and secretly read late into the night — only to wake up completely exhausted and have to go to school the next morning. Not much has changed since then. I still often stay up far too late reading and feel tired the next day. 😉 There’s always a Kindle in my handbag so I can squeeze in a little reading whenever I have to wait somewhere, and my bookshelves are bursting at the seams. What a shame we can’t wear books. Or can we?

The Amanda Book Dress from Dolly and Dotty lets me do just that. Well, sort of. It has the most lovely book print.

A Lovely Book Print Dress to Wear All Year Round

RetroCat is wearing a dress by Dolly and Dotty with a book print.

This lovely book print dress isn’t just super cute, it’s also very practical: you can wear it all year round. On hot days, just as it is. On cooler days, with a cardigan over it or a delicate blouse underneath. And when it gets really cold, with a turtleneck underneath and a cardigan on top.

I pair it with a waist belt, seamed tights and heels. A perfect outfit for a trip to the bookshop, a café visit or a cosy afternoon of reading. 😉

A little note on the fit: I’m between sizes at Dolly and Dotty, and this time I went for the larger size. Mainly because I wanted enough room to comfortably wear a jumper underneath. It’s a little loose at the waist, but the belt takes care of that beautifully. And I don’t have to worry if the cake at the café turns out to be a little too delicious. 😉
