For warm Summer Days in the Countryside: “Dorothy” by The Seamstress of Bloomsbury

In summer, I usually escape from the big city life and move to my parents in the countryside. I simply love to spend the hot summer days underneath our apple tree, listening to the many birds and rustling leaves. Often, I don’t come back to Munich before the Wiesn madness is over in October. But of course, the countryside idyl requires different outfits than the urban jungle. Therefore, I like to wear simple, light dresses. A wonderful example is “Dorothy” by The Seamstress of Bloomsbury.

A Day in the Countryside with “Dorothy” by The Seamstress of Bloomsbury

The light Crepe de Chine fabric flutters amazingly in the wind, while small sleeves protect ones shoulders from too much sun. But what I love most about the dress are all the cute little details. Just have a look at those lovely heart-shaped buttons and the collar! I teamed the baby blue dress with light pink stockings by Secrets in Lace. Fancy high-heels are not the best choice for a day in the countryside to be honest, however, they add a modern touch to the vintage inspired outfit which I really like. Pink “bling bling” vintage earrings as well as a pearl bracelet finish the retro look.

A subtle Summer Makeup

When it comes to makeup, less is more in the countryside. I only wear a CC cream by Chanel with SPF 50 and skip powder altogether. On my eyes, I just apply a little bit of rose eyeshadow with the help of my fingers and some mascara. Pink blush makes your face look fresher while the Dior Addict Gradient Lipstick in “Fuchsia Twist” not only nourishes the lips, but also gives them a nice colour. To finish the makeup, I apply a teeny tiny bit of highlighter from the Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette on my cheebones and underneath my brows.
