January is a quite boring month. The weather is dreary, the days are short and there is nothing really to do. But I believe it is still possible to have fun and a good time. My only problem: When it is so cold and gloomy outside, I usually simply want to stay in bed, where it is warm and comfy. But of course I do not want to hibernate the whole January (or do I?). So in the following, I have some tips for you (and me) on how to have a lovely and relaxed winter day.

Dates, Shopping & delicious Food

In winter, I have to force myself to do something. So it is best to go on a coffee date or something like this with a dear friend. Then, I have to get up and dressed up and also have something to look forward to. And if you do not want to visit a café on a gloomy January day, I have an even better recommendation for you: A delicatessen store! This is the perfect place to shop some treats and lots of delicious tea for the following dark month. One of my favourite addresses in Munich is the delicatessen store “Feinkost Käfer” at Prinzregentenstraße, by the way.

And after some shopping, it is time for coffee or lunch at the Käfer Bistro. I mean, this might not be the most exciting thing to do, but it still always cheers me up. Meeting friend, delicious food and some treats – that’s all I need. 😉

Tweed Dress and warm Accessories: The perfect Outfit for a Winter Day

What is also always able to cheer me up, too, is to pick out a lovely outfit and do my makeup. The only problem in winter is to find something that is warm, practical, but still looks good. But as I got some very lovely boots for Christmas, I decided to plan my outfit around them.

The base of my outfit is an elegant tweed dress by Von 50′, which somehow always reminds me a bit of Chanel. Since it only has half-long sleeves, I decided to wear it with long vintage gloves. A beret keeps your head warm and looks stylish, while thermal tights and a matching handbag finish this outfit for a january day in the city.

PS: A beret has another great advantage: You don’t have to style your hair perfectly. This is very practical, especially on those wet winter days, when my hair is always some kind of out of control.
