My monthly review for October

Sunny autumn days, colorful trees, foggy mornings – October was absolutely perfect and I’m really a little sad that it’s over again. That’s why I thought it was time to share a monthly review.

What I did:

October more than made up for the rainy September. We almost always had good weather, except for a few pleasant rainy days in between, which I also really enjoyed. We bought pumpkins, walked together through the rustling leaves and bought a kite for the toddler. However, we haven’t been able to get it up yet – the weather wasn’t windy enough. I also processed the last tomato harvest from the garden. Now there are only leeks and cabbage as well as a few winter salads in the bed, which will hopefully get us through the cold season well.

What I wore

Since the weather was really golden, I could pretty much always wear dresses. In keeping with autumn, I liked wearing checked patterns and cozy knitted dresses.

By the way: I’m trying to share more of my daily outfits on my Instagram-Story and my LTK shop, so feel free to follow me there. Alternatively, you can also find them in my Daily Looks here on the blog.

What I ate:

There was a lot of pumpkin to eat in October. And the remaining tomatoes from the garden, leeks and apple strudel. Plus, of course, my homemade 6-grain sourdough bread. My kitchen has definitely arrived in autumn.

What I bought

RetroCats new Mason Pearson brush

I wasn’t in the mood for shopping throughout the summer and hardly bought anything. Like every year, my fashion and beauty mood returns in autumn. That’s why a few pretty things ended up in my shopping basket in October. Among other things, two dresses from the Berlin based brand Femkit. I even styled one of their dresses for this year’s Halloween look.

I also have a new foundation. Namely the Magic Finish by Asambeauty*. To be honest, I hadn’t really thought about it until now, but I’m really excited about it. With a toddler, I simply have less time in the morning than before (I’ve always used every minute of sleep I can get ;-)) and the make-up mousse is actually applied in no time. It covers a bit, but still looks super natural, you can easily spread it with your fingers and the Magic Finish mattifies the skin. You can therefore skip the powder afterwards.

And another beauty utensil was allowed to move in: After the pregnancy, like so many women, I struggled with hair loss. I’ve got that behind me and my hair is growing back again, but I’m not really happy with my hair yet. That’s why I’ve now treated myself to a new brush, namely one from Mason Pearson (e.g. via Otto*). It feels like the whole internet and every celebrity is raving about it. Admittedly, the price really put me off at first, but I will now give it a chance and, after a detailed test, I will of course report on it here on my blog.

What I watched:

I’m not watching much at the moment. I mostly spend the evenings working because I don’t get to do it during the day – and I often watch a video on YouTube during work. My recommendation for fall (or actually all year round) is Christine Christine McConnell’s account. She also has a Patreon account and a Netflix show. If you like spooky DIYs, this is your show to watch.
