I’ll admit it — things have been a little quiet here on the blog over the past few months. I didn’t even manage to publish my usual monthly recaps. While nature slowly came back to life this spring, I used the time to slow down a little myself and recharge my energy. After a long winter, I often find myself lacking inspiration, and instead of sitting in front of a computer, I feel much more drawn outside.

What I’ve Been Up To

Spring always brings plenty of garden work, so I’ve been busy sowing seeds, planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting the first radishes and salads of the season. Sport and lots of outdoor activities were also high on my to-do list, while quieter evenings were spent reading or painting.

At the beginning of the month, we also enjoyed a few wonderful days in beautiful South Tyrol — always such a lovely place to slow down and recharge.

The weather in May really kept us guessing, shifting from wintery days with snow (!) to wonderfully warm early summer temperatures. The last few days of the month felt especially dreamy and officially marked the beginning of lake swimming season.

What I wore

In May, I truly wore everything from boots to summer dresses to swimsuits — all in the same month, haha.

Tip: I’m currently trying to share my daily outfits on LTK a little more regularly again, so feel free to stop by my account!

What I read

Since my last monthly recap, I’ve made my way through a mix of fantasy and romantasy books.

After Fourth Wing, the follow-up books in Rebecca Yarros’ Empyrean series quickly found their way onto my reading list: Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. I enjoyed both books, although I have to admit they didn’t quite live up to the first one for me and felt a little slower at times. Still, after that brutal cliffhanger in Onyx Storm, I absolutely can’t wait for book four — hopefully with at least a few answers waiting for us. But fair warning: if cliffhangers aren’t your thing, you may want to hold off on reading for a little while.

At the moment, I’m reading the cozy fantasy novel The House Witch — perfect for slow, cozy evenings curled up on the couch.
