If there were such a thing as the perfect summer month, this July would be it. After an exceptionally hot June, July brought much more comfortable temperatures—at least where we live. It was still warm enough to soak up everything we love about summer, from sunny afternoons and swimming in the lake to evening jogs that stretched long past sunset.
Here’s a little look at what else I got up to this month.
What I did:

July was berry season in full swing! I harvested plenty of red currants, raspberries, the last strawberries, and even the first blackberries. Needless to say, both my little one and I were very happy about that. Aside from berry picking, I spent time tackling a few smaller gardening projects and enjoying leisurely summer walks with my family. I also had one less exciting task on my to-do list: filing my tax return. All in all, though, it was a truly wonderful summer month—tax paperwork aside, of course. 😉
What I wore

Even though July was thankfully a little cooler than June, I still reached for linen dresses, airy fabrics, and cheerful summer prints most days. Lemon prints, in particular, were a seasonal favorite.
Tip: I’m trying to share my daily outfits more regularly on LTK again, so feel free to stop by and have a look!

What I Read & Listened To
I didn’t actually read very much this month, but I did rediscover my love of audiobooks.
Book Recommendation: Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter

Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter is a cozy fantasy filled with magic, cats, and wonderfully quirky characters. The story follows Agnes, who lovingly runs a cat sanctuary and unexpectedly finds herself moving in with the infamous Dark Lord Havelock Renard. With forbidden magic, dry humor, and plenty of adorable feline companions, it’s the perfect feel-good read for a relaxing afternoon. To me, it already has a wonderfully cozy autumn atmosphere, so I’d definitely recommend adding it to your fall reading list. 🍂
Audiobooks Make Every Chore Better
As a child, I absolutely loved audiobooks. Somehow, though, I stopped listening to them as an adult. Recently, I’ve rediscovered just how much more enjoyable they make everyday chores. Washing dishes, folding laundry, or cleaning the house suddenly feels far more relaxing with a great story playing in the background. Sometimes I even find myself cleaning a little longer just to finish one more chapter. 😉
Last month, I listened to Rebecca Yarros’ Empyrean series again after reading the books earlier this year. I especially enjoy revisiting complex fantasy worlds this way. Once you already know the story, it’s no big deal if you miss a sentence or two while vacuuming or doing the dishes.
I listened to the GraphicAudio Dramatized Adaptation versions of Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, and Onyx Storm on Audible—all in English. If you’re comfortable listening in English, I can’t recommend them enough (I am not a native speaker, but I understood them well, they are not too difficult to follow, in my opinion). They’re like a movie for your ears, complete with sound effects, music, and a full cast of voice actors.
