An elegant outfit doesn’t have to be overdressed or uncomfortable, as this 40s inspired look proves. The combination of a red skirt and light blouse by The House Of Foxy is perfect for everyday life.
A elegant 40s inspired Look for every day
Tight pencil skirts can be quite uncomfy, especially if one has to move a lot, while big circle skirts might be a bit unpractical in everyday life as they always need a lot of space. A classy swing skirt is the perfect alternative. The pretty red one by The House Of Foxy is one of my most worn pieces, since it can be teamed with both, simple and very glamorous pieces.
White blouses are real allrounder and go well with almost every skirt. I already showed you the one with a bow at the collar in a 30s inspired combination. This time, however, it was a bit cold so I decided to wear a cardigan on top. A leather jacket makes the look a bit more modern.
Black fishnet tights by Chantal Thomass help to hold ones legs warm, while the Moss Garden Heels by Banned finish the 40s inspired vintage outfit.
Quick and chic: A pretty 40s inspired Makeup
Such a simple and elegant look doesn’t need a lot of makeup. On my eyelids I’m wearing a nude coloured eyeshadow from the Dior Eye Reviver Palette, for my lashes I applied the Le Volume de Chanel Mascara. I used a bit of eyebrow powder and applied blush for fresher look. To finish the 40s inspired makeup, I applied the Mac Ultimate Lipstick in “Dangerously Chic”.
As most of the time, I’m wearing my hair in a big bun. For this I use a huge hair donut and lots of pins.
