Swing skirts are one of my favourite pieces. They don’t look as severe as pencil skirts do, but on the other side aren’t as fussy as circle skirts are. They are a mixture of both, to be precise. Therefore, swing skirts are not only perfect for the office, but also for a fun afternoon with friends. I especially love subtle designs and colours as they can be worn with almost everything. In this blogpost, I show you an outfit which reminds me a bit of Marvel’s Agent Carter. 😉
Practical but stylish: The 1940s Swing Skirt by Pretty Retro
The black 1940s Swing Skirt by Pretty Retro is the base of my outfit. The skirt goes a bit over the knees and swings wonderfully when one is moving, while the drapy crepe fabric with a touch of strech feels amazingly on the skin. I teamed the swing skirt with a grey knitted top and fully fashioned stockings by Secrets in Lace.
A vintage hat from my grandma in plum, as well as black gloves, and a vintage handbag finish this 40s inspired outfit.
A 40s inspired Makeup for every day
My makeup is inspired by the 40s as well. After applying my foundation, I used a bit of eyeshadow as well as mascara. I accentuate my eyebrows and cheeks only a little but. The focus of this makeup are definitely the lips. My lipstick of choice is the Mac Ultimate Lipstick in “Dangerously Chic”.
