10 timeless winter must-haves
A freezing cold envelops the streets and winter is already knocking on the door. This means that the wardrobe is undergoing another transformation. The transitional jackets and light dresses make room for stylish coats, cool boots and lovely winter dresses. In this post I’ll show you ten winter must-haves that keep you warm and look stylish. But it’s not about trends. Rather, I share timeless classics with you that are fun and look good every winter.
Winter Must-haves: 1. the Turtleneck

A simple turtleneck sweater is one of the fashion classics. It keeps you warm and can be worn alone or under a variety of outfits. A thin, black turtleneck, for example, goes well with full midi skirts or makes sleeveless dresses suitable for winter. Cuddly, thick models look particularly good solo.

2. An elegant black Coat

A black coat is the little black dress among jackets. It always looks elegant and grown-up and goes with almost every outfit and every occasion. From the office to dinner – no problem, the classic coat can do both and is therefore a real investment piece. By the way, my coat is by Ginger Jackie. There are also great, classic models at TopVintage*, for example. You can find the luxury versions at MyTheresa*, e.g. (I particularly like the one from Dolce & Gabbana*).

3. A cozy Fake Fur Jacket

Cozy jackets and coats made of fake fur keep you wonderfully warm, look extremely extravagant and best of all: no animal has to suffer for it. A faux fur jacket fits wonderfully over elegant dresses, but also makes looks that consist of leggings and sweaters look instantly more glamorous and is therefore an absolute must-have for the cold season. At TopVintage, for example, you will find two really great models: the Banderas Coat in Red* and a coat in sea blue by King Louie*.

4. Cool Ankle Boots are a Winter-Must-have

Ankle boots are real classics and a perfect choice from autumn to spring. They go with almost any outfit – whether it’s trousers, a skirt or an elegant dress – and are therefore always a safe option. By the way, the ankle boots in the photo are from Tamaris*.

5. Elegant Boots

Elegant, classic boots – whether with or without heels – are timeless and go perfectly with skirts and dresses. It’s best to invest in a high-quality model in black or brown that goes with different outfits – then it’s worth it. For example, I have had my boots for many years. I just have the heels adjusted every now and then so they look like new.

6. Winter-Must-have: A long Knitted Dress

Long knitted dresses reliably keep you warm even on the coldest days of the year, impress with their high level of comfort and also look great. An absolute winter must-have that should not be missing from any wardrobe. My dark red model in the pictures is from Collectif Clothing and from an older collection. At Sezane* you can find a similar model in burgundy red. TopVintage*, on the other hand, has a beautiful knitted dress in golden brown in its range.

7. A warm Winter Dress

In addition to knitted dresses, there are of course other winter dresses that keep you warm and look super stylish. Models made from bouclé are particularly elegant. Thick wool is also a good choice as it keeps you warm very reliably. By the way, my winter dress with a houndstooth pattern is from Von 50′ and still available via Etsy*.

Winter Must-haves: 8. Thermal Tights

If you like to wear skirts and dresses in winter, you can’t avoid thermal tights (e.g. via Amazon*). Well lined, they keep you warm even in sub-zero temperatures and if you find simple black tights too boring, you can simply wear sophisticated fishnet tights with rhinestones (e.g. via Amazon*) or pearls on top.

9. Berets

Our heads also want to be protected from the icy temperatures in winter. Cool felt fedoras are a stylish choice for the not-so-cold days (the ones from Maison Michel, e.g. via Farfetch* look great). As soon as it gets really cold, I rely on wool berets, which also cover the ears, when necessary. Berets are available in all price ranges from super cheap to very expensive. You can find particularly beautiful yet affordable models at Brothers & Sisters Paris.

10. Chic Leather Gloves

With leather gloves you don’t have to compromise on style in winter. They keep your hands warm and just look really cool. Long models also go wonderfully with dresses with half-length or three-quarter-length sleeves. By the way, I recommend Roeckl for high-quality and really beautiful leather gloves.
