Weekly Review

I want to re-establish my weekly reviews! I always had great fun reviewing the week and sharing it with you. I don’t know how regularly I’ll get to it, but I’m doing my best. 😉

What I did:

Summer finally arrived and even lasted for a few days at a time. So we enjoyed the good weather, splashed around in the garden and took long walks in the evenings. Evening walks were something of a tradition during my pregnancy and we ventured out in almost any weather. That’s why I’m super happy that we’re now building on that and are now on the road as a threesome. Perfect for clearing your head after a long day and getting in some exercise.

I was also in the garden, tending to my vegetable plants and was also able to harvest some.

What I wore

When the temperatures are so high, I like to wear light clothes. Linen dresses, for example, are a great choice. I really like the models from Son de Flor*. But I also like to wear light cotton dresses at the moment. Add sunglasses and you’ll look stylish. 😉 When I’m gardening, I prefer to wear retro jeans, a simple T-shirt and a straw hat as sun protection.

By the way: I’m trying to share more of my daily outfits on my Instagram story and my LTK shop, so feel free to follow me there. Alternatively, you can also find them in my daily looks here on the blog.

What I ate:

Food-wise, I love summer! There is an abundance of fruits, vegetables and salad from our own garden. That’s why this week we mainly had colorful garden salads, broccoli from the raised bed and delicious blueberries. Plus pasta, spaetzle and my favorite homemade breakfast rolls from the book Bread Bread Bread by Martin Johansson.

RetroCats broccoli from the garden: this is how it is prepared

By the way, I like to prepare broccoli very quickly and easily: fill a medium-sized pot with about 1 to 2 cm of water. Add a good pinch of salt, sauté the broccoli florets and the chopped stem and, if possible, a few broccoli leaves for about 5 minutes. Then drain most of the water, add some butter to the pot, briefly toss the broccoli in it and serve. A super tasty side dish!

What I bought

It was Prime Day at Amazon, so we bought a few things. There was a child carrier (via Amazon*) (the baby carrier is getting too small) and a few cute sand toys, namely ice cream molds and cupcakes (via Amazon*). This time I came away empty-handed. 😉

What I watched

We’re currently watching the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. I really like the series so far. 🙂

My trip tip of the week:

I used to like to share Munich tips with you in my weekly reviews. Since I no longer live in Munich, I would now like to share general excursion tips for Bavaria. This week: The wonderfully beautiful Alpsee in Hohenschwangau. Crystal clear water, a wonderful mountain panorama and the view of the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles make it so special. Read a lot more in this blog post.
