Munich Shopping Tips: The best Places to shop Tracht, Hats, Fashion, and Lingerie

Munich shopping tips

If there is something I am really good at, it must be shopping. However, my shopping behaviour really changed over the last few years. While in my teen years, the big fashion brands almost magically attracted me, I only really enjoy shopping in unique, small boutiques and shops, nowadays. Mass-produced fast fashion really isn’t for me, and quality as well as timelessness is much more important for me than quantity and trends. If your shopping behaviour is similar to mine, then this blogpost is for you! I am going to show you my favourite shops and department stores in Munich for traditional clothing, (vintage) fashion, legwear, and lingerie!

Munich Shopping Tips: Department Stores

Munich shopping tips: The most beautiful department stores

Department stores have one real advantage, especially during the cold season: You find almost everything you need in just one store, without running through the whole city. I usually avoid big department stores, though, as they almost never have things I really like and wear. Nevertheless, Munich has some department stores that are worth a visit.

Oberpollinger

Next to the popular Karlsplatz (Stachus) in Munich, you will find the luxury department store Oberpollinger, a real shopping paradise for fashionistas with luxury brands like Dior, Miu Miu or Gucci. However, I personally like to visit this store mainly because of its gorgeous lingerie, traditional clothing and beauty department.

80331 Munich

Ludwig Beck

Ludwig Beck, located at the beautiful Marienplatz, is another luxury department store with many popular brands. I mainly recommend their traditional clothing and beauty department, though. And if you like classy accessories, make sure to have a look at their hats and gloves!

Lodenfrey

In the heart of Munich, you will find the department store Lodenfrey. I highly recommend their traditional clothing department, full of Dirndls and the Bavarian tracht. Beside their own traditional brand Lodenfrey, they also offer traditional clothing from brands like Meindl, Mothwurf and Lena Hoschek, for example.
