How to style a beige sweater

Cozy sweaters are the absolutely perfect basic. They keep you warm, no matter whether we spend hours strolling through the Christmas market, walking through the snow or want to save on heating costs at home. Beige sweaters are particularly beautiful and timeless. They go with a wide variety of looks and can be styled in many different ways. Whether cozy for at home, cheeky for visiting a cafĂ© with friends or festive for the Christmas season – you can’t go wrong with a beige sweater.

The perfect beige Sweater

Beige sweaters are so versatile and suit a variety of occasions. Anyone who owns a suitable, high-quality model will benefit from it for a long time if it is cared for properly. That’s why, in my opinion, it can cost a little more. But you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a great example. Mine, for example, is second-hand and still looks great, even though I’ve worn it a lot.

Tip: Be sure to read my tips on buying vintage clothing. Not only will I tell you my favorite platforms, but I will also explain what you should definitely keep in mind while shopping.

Whether you want a sweater with or without a turtleneck is a matter of taste. Personally, I find turtlenecks practical in the cold season, but a sweater with a neckline works just as well. You can also simply choose the beige tone to suit your taste. I really like very light tones, but slightly darker shades look just as great.

The matching Bra for your beige Sweater

How to style a beige sweater: RetroCat's tips

Before I show you how versatile a simple beige sweater can be combined, let’s talk about a few basics about matching underwear. Light-colored tops are often somewhat translucent. If you don’t want the bra to be visible at all, it’s best to choose a skin-colored model without seams, lace, etc. But of course you can also play with the slightly sheer look. A seductive bra that can be seen under the sweater will make the outfit look less conservative in no time. For example, I really like the Madame X Bra by Dita von Teese (e.g. via Amazon*) in a sexy retro look.

A classy Look with black Leggings and a beige Sweater

Outfit details: Sweater vintage (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), leggings Calzedonia (e.g. via About You*), boots Stuart Weitzman (e.g. via Fashionette*), cape: Ginger Jackie (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), handbag Coccinelle (e.g. via OTTO*), hairbow via Amazon*, earrings old (similar e.g. via Thomas Sabo*)

The beige sweater is simple, but very tasteful and timeless in combination with leggings. Plus flat, black boots (mine are from Stuart Weitzman) and for the wow effect, a cape (e.g. via TopVintage*) instead of a boring jacket. A bow in your hair makes the look a little more girly and playful, but is optional.

Outfit details: Sweater vintage (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), skirt The Seamstress of Bloomsbury (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), thermal tights (e.g. via Amazon*), ankle boots old (similar e.g. via MyTheresa*), coat: Hell Bunny (e.g. via TopVintage*), beret old (similar e.g. via Amazon*)

Walks are nice even in winter, especially if you are well dressed. A cozy beige turtleneck sweater is a wonderful choice. For a warm retro look, I wear the sweater with a checked knee-length skirt. Thermal tights keep your legs warm and of course a nice coat is a must. Accessories like a beret and gloves complete the look.

A beige Sweater styled for a festive Look

Outfit details: Sweater vintage (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), skirt The Seamstress of Bloomsbury (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), nylons (e.g. via Amazon*), boots old (similar e.g. via Amazon*), gloves: Roeckl (e.g. via Amazon*)

A beige turtleneck can also look festive! I combine it with a knee-length skirt, nylons and high boots with heels. A brooch and beautiful gloves give the look that certain something.

How to style a beige Turtleneck Sweater in a cheeky Way

Outfit details: Sweater vintage (similar e.g. via TopVintage*), mini skirt Sandro (similar e.g. via Breuninger*), tights (similar e.g. via Amazon*), shoes old (similar e.g. via Amazon*), handbag vintage (similar e.g. via TopVintage*)

A beige sweater always looks classic and “adult”? Not at all! If styled correctly, it can even look really cheeky. For example, it goes wonderfully with mini skirts. For a fancy look, I choose cool over-the-knee tights with a funny cat design. Add pumps with a not too high heel and the cheeky look with 60s flair is perfect.
