If I learned something in the last few weeks, it would be that it is very important to take some time for myself. It doesn’t have to be a wellness trip, or vacation. Usually it is enough to simply take some hours off to escape from the busy everyday life. My little break usually means I’m going out for a long walk or to the waterside to enjoy nature and recharge my batteries. A wonderful dress for such an occasion is “Daphne” in Seaside Print by The Seamstress of Bloomsbury.
A Day at the Waterside with Daphne by The Seamstress of Bloomsbury
“Daphne” has short sleeves which protect my shoulders from the sun. It is made of 100 percent cotton, which makes it a perfect companion for the whole day. But what I love most about the dress is the lovely Seaside Print. I’m a big fan of maritime garments in general, but this specific pattern is especially beautiful. Stripes, fishes, boats, and palms – simply divine. Daphne is a full bottomed dress, and the pockets at the skirt are super practical, as they fit small things like keys or a lipstick, for example.
To match the maritime look of the outfit, I chose accessories in the same colour range. On sunny days, sunglasses are a must, so I went for lovely retro shades by Miu Miu. A parasol protects me from the sun and is my “shadow to go”. As it was a little bit chilly on our shooting day, I decided to team the dress with matching nylon stockings in lilac by Secrets in Lace. A vintage basket bag, colour matching wedges, pink earrings by Glitter Paradise, as well as a sparkly bracelet finish this maritime retro outfit.

A summery vintage Makeup
My makeup for a day at the waterside is quite simple, but still has a retro touch. I start with the CC Cream by Chanel with SPF 50. On my lids, I fist apply the Urban Decay Primer Potion and go on with a plum eyeshadow. Afterwards, I apply the Diorshow Maximizer and lots of mascara. A little bit of eyebrow powder enhances the eyebrows, while a hint of blush makes my face look fresher. On my lips, I first use the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub and apply the Dior Addict Lipstick in „Fuchsia Twist“ afterwards – that’s my simple makeup for a day at the waterside..
