An Evening in Munich with the Kitty Dress “Perfume Pink” by Vivien of Holloway

An Evening in Munich with the Kitty Dress “Perfume Pink” by Vivien of Holloway

I’m back in Munich! After spending some lovely weekends in the countryside, I’m enjoying big city life at the moment. I especially love those warm spring and summer evenings here. Pleasant temperatures, a nice companion (in my case Martin, of course), a great outfit, and delicious food – that’s all I need. The weather is amazing, currently, and of course it does not lack of good food in Munich. So all I needed was a lovely look for the evening. Luckily, I found the beautiful Kitty Dress “Perfume Pink” by Vivien of Holloway. This dress is simply perfect, as it does not only look pretty, it’s also pretty practical.

Romantic retro Look: The Kitty Dress “Perfume Pink” by Vivien of Holloway

The Kitty Dress is available in a lot of different colours and patterns, but I immediatly felt in love with the design “Perfume Pink”. I love pink, roses as well, and furthermore, I’m a huge Paris fan – so the pattern couldn’t be any better for me. The cut is lovely as well. I love the longer hemline, the pretty collar, and the full pleated skirt. Another highlight are the pockets, as one can easily carry the credit card, smartphone, and favourite lipstick in them. To enhance my waist, I teamed the retro dress with a white vintage belt.

Since it can get quite chilly in the evening, I always take a cardigan with me. This time, I went for a beige one, which I bought in Paris several years ago. Besides that, I’m wearing the subtle and elegant Elegance French Heel stockings by Secrets in Lace – Europe, which I already introduced in this blogpost. Underneath, I’m wearing the romantic Speakeasy Set by Secrets in Lace. Beige shoes, a vintage handbag and matching earring finish this pink retro outfit.

The Siegestor in Munich

Our location this time is the Siegestor (Victory Gate) in Munich. The gate was comissioned by King Ludwig I. of Bavaria in 1840 and designed by the famous architect Friedrich von Gärtner. This triumphal arch sits exactly at the place where the Ludwigstraße ends and Leopoldstraße begins. It’s also the boundary of the two Munich districts Maxvorstadt and Schwabing. An eye-catcher is the statue of Bavaria with a lion-quadriga on top of the gate. As the Siegestor got damaged during World War II, it was reconstructed after the war. On the back side, you will find a new inscription now: “Dem Sieg geweiht, vom Krieg zerstört, zum Frieden mahnend” which could be translated with “Dedicated to victory, destroyed by war, urging peace“. By the way: As the Siegestor looks most beautiful by night, it’s a good idea to visit it in the evening and go to one of the many bars or restaurant afterwards.

Until the end of May, you will also find the “Love and Hate” ambigram sculptures by Mia Florentine Weiß there. Each sculpture says “Love” and “Hate”, depending on the perspective.

A romantic retro Makeup

To match my dress, my makeup is quite subtle and romantic. Instead of a foundation, I’m using the CC Cream by Chanel, and apply the Guerlain Météorites on top. On my lids, I start with a primer by Urban Decay and apply pink eyeshadow afterwards. Then, I use lots of mascara and some eyebrow power. On my cheeks, I apply pink blush, and on my lips, I first use the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub and pink lipstick afterwards. A hint of Miss Dior’s Blooming Bouquet and I’m ready to go.
